SSDM on a Roll with National and Regional Awards
TROY, Mich - SSDM, a premier digital marketing agency known for delivering measured outcomes, took top honors in several recent award competitions.
2021 U.S. Search Award Win
SSDM won for its quick-to-market campaign for EmPower HR, a professional employer organization (PEO) headquartered in Brighton, Michigan. Besting nine other finalists in the category for Best Use of Content Marketing, SSDM is thrilled that its integrated campaign for EmPower HR significantly impressed the judges.
“It was the first-ever digital campaign undertaken by EmPower, and we were delighted to help bring a fresh perspective to its marketing efforts,” says Michael J. Taylor II, SSDM partner and creative director. “Using a full suite of initiatives, including a completely new website, totally new content and multi-channel marketing, our partnership with EmPower on this campaign exceeded objectives.”
2021 U.S. Agency Award Win
SSDM won in the Campaign Effectiveness category for its digital marketing campaign for the introduction of the Bosch ADS 525X automotive diagnostics systems from Bosch Automotive Service Systems, Inc., a division of the multinational industry leader. The campaign included paid search, display and remarketing components for the best opportunity to reach the most qualified prospects.
“With a targeted combination of messaging and imagery, through the right channels, and optimized constantly, the 90-day campaign more than achieved the desired results for Bosch,” says Patrick Eslinger, senior customer experience manager and performance supervisor at SSDM.
Metro Detroit Best and Brightest Companies to Work ForⓇ
In addition, SSDM won its third Metro Detroit Best + Brightest award in 2021, validating the agency’s commitment to transparency and growth. The annual survey takes the temperature of a company’s employees, and honors “organizations that display a commitment to excellence in their human resource practices and employee enrichment. Organizations are assessed based on categories such as communication, work-life balance, employee education, diversity, recognition, retention and more.”
The participation process for Best and Brightest features a company self-assessment, anonymous employee surveys and a third-party evaluation. After the submission and evaluation processes, companies are provided a report with valuable insights to help them identify opportunities for growth.

July 30, 2021, Troy MI -- SSDM, the premier digital marketing agency, is celebrating its third Telly Award in as many years. The Bronze Telly was awarded to the agency in the category of Non-Broadcast/Non-Profit for its short documentary for Volunteers of America (VOA) Illinois. The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens.
VOA Illinois collaborated with SSDM to create a short film to tell a powerful story about the programs they offer their community, so donors can understand the full effect of their support. “Katrina’s Story” was produced to thank VOA donors at a golf outing and fundraising event. It portrays the Army National Guard veteran’s journey from life on the streets to employment by the VOA to help others who are coping with life’s struggles. VOA Illinois provides child welfare services, veterans’ services and housing assistance.
SSDM creative director and partner, Michael J. Taylor II notes that these sorts of projects are most gratifying because they provide SSDM the opportunity to tell stories about people whose lives were changed forever. “The fact that Katrina was once a recipient of services, and now helps others find hope in those same programs, speaks volumes about the impact VOA Illinois has on those in need,” says Taylor.
Nancy Hughes Moyer, VOA Illinois CEO, says, “Katrina’s story is especially powerful because she so thoroughly embraced the VOA services during her time of need and now, as she advocates for others as part of the organization, her success story is such an inspiration.”
In 2021, in addition to the Telly Award, SSDM was a finalist this year for two Global Agency awards: one for Best Social Media Campaign for Dynfly, a pop-in-pop-out hair-color bar, and one for Digital Agency of the Year, and is a U.S. Search Awards finalist for Best Use of Content Marketing for HR PEO client, EmPower HR.
SSDM, an award-winning digital marketing agency of 23 employees, is focused on the customer journey. With experts and expertise in search, social, lead generation, data analysis and strategy development, SSDM is a nationally recognized industry leader, the 2019 Interactive Marketing Association’s Best Small Interactive Agency of the Year, 2020 U.S. Social Media Award winner, and Crain’s 2020 Cool Places to Work awardee.
