MSED Forgotten Harvest Community Building Event
MSED Members start 2018 spending a few hours giving back to our community.
MSED invites members and guests to join us for a fun event, that will let you learn more about Forgotten Harvest and spend just a few hours helping people in our community.
Our time at Forgotten Harvest will involve a tour of the facility and re-pack fresh, nutritious food destined for the tables of those in need.
Thousands of individuals from the metro Detroit community have joined the Forgotten Harvest Rescue Team. Anyone who is willing to step-up and help their mission to end hunger by volunteering their time can be part of this excellent team.
A portion of each registration fee will go as a donation to Forgotten Harvest.
Agenda:
Session 1: 9:00am - 12pm
Forgotten Harvest has celebrated 25 years serving the members of our community. Fonded by Dr. Nancy Fishman. During a difficult time in her life — when she needed food — Dr. Fishman made a commitment to help others in need of food assistance. Starting from the back of her own vehicle, Dr. Fishman rescued food from local events and religious celebrations. When an elderly couple read about her desperate need for a van to increase her services to those in need, they made an anonymous donation that paid for our first truck. The continued work of countless volunteers has made Forgotten Harvest the celebrated success it is today in doing amazing work in our community.
