MSED invites members and guests to join us for an informative and fun event about inventing a sport, creating a business, building a brand, and realizing a dream.
In 2001, the errant pass of a football into some bowling pins gave Chris Hutt the idea for a game. The game became a sport. The sport became an obsession. The obsession fueled a dream – to establish a place he could share his love of “Fowling” with Metro Detroit – and beyond. The dream became a reality in 2014, with the opening of the Fowling Warehouse, a 34,000-square-foot Fowling Warehouse in a Hamtramck industrial park. Complete with 20 lanes, a full bar, big-screen TVs and a small stage for bands.
Fowling – a simple game where you throw footballs at bowling pins – has become a smashing success. Thousands of “fowlers” come every week to play at the Fowling Warehouse and share Chris’ passion for the sport he created. Chris and the Fowling Warehouse have been featured in the Wall Street Journal, TIME Magazine, on ESPN, and in media outlets around the world. A second location in Grand Rapids opened in December, and Chris’ plans for the sport continue to grow.

About the Speaker:
Chris Hutt, Owner and Founder of the Fowling Warehouse, is a local Detroit success story, He started this business in 2001 with an idea and crazy dream. Taking a game, that was created with his buddies at a tail gate game and making it a successful business.
MSED Event Cancellation Policy: Cancellations will s.be accepted until 5pm on Monday, January 29th. Cancellations received by this date will be refunded less a 10% administrative fee, with a minimum charge of $5. Refunds cannot be issued for cancellations received after this date; however, substitutions for another person to attend in your place are gladly accepted.
